KOHENET APRIL N. BASKIN
My journey to developing Co-Creative Wisdom began through my own experience of navigating multiple marginalized identities while becoming a nationally-recognized social justice leader. As an ordained Black & Cherokee Jewish priestess, I discovered something profound: brilliant leaders weren't struggling because they lacked skills or talent - they were trying to achieve their way out of patterns installed by systemic oppression and unhealed historic harm.
Over my 20+ year career, from becoming the first Black & Indigenous VP of a $90M nonprofit organization at the age of 31 to being ordained as a Jewish Priestess, I've consistently seen one major challenge holding visionary leaders back. I call it the High Achiever's Historic Bind. This tendency to overwork and overachieve our way through triggers doesn't just exhaust us - it reinforces the very patterns that are: 1. keeping us stuck, and 2. the internalized forms of the systemic oppression we want to to eradicate.
What makes my approach different is that I don't just teach better coping strategies or trauma-informed leadership. I help leaders transform their entire relationship with challenges by integrating: social justice and leadership expertise, trauma-agile™ healing, and practical spiritual and energetic insight and wisdom. This isn't about becoming “untriggerable” - it's about dissolving triggers at their source while building genuine sovereignty.
The guiding premise behind Co-Creative Wisdom is that we need to heal our relationship with achievement and reality itself if we want to create lasting change. We can't achieve our way out of patterns installed by systemic oppression - we need to dissolve them at their source while accessing our natural wisdom.
Through this work, I've helped 300+ organizations and thousands of visionary leaders transform their relationship with challenges, from clergy and executive directors to medical professionals and community leaders and activists. My clients consistently discover that when they stop trying to achieve their way through triggers and instead access their sovereign presence, they create more meaningful impact while maintaining their center and experiencing more fulfillments in their work and lives.
